Slump?
Have you ever found yourself in a slump and can't figure out how to get yourself out? Whether you are in a slump or just ain't hitting, it's important to just keep swinging. Baseball is a mental sport and a game set up on failure. The biggest problem in a slump is the hitter's capability to overcome the mental aspect of the game. According to Yogi Berra, "you can't think and hit at the same time." A hitter tries to "fix" their mechanics and/or stance when they approach the plate. This, in turn, begins a never ending cycle of mental games. There are a few ways to help a hitter overcome their mental stagnation. Staying confident and believing in yourself are two important tools to always carry with you. Never approach a new at-bat with the failures of your past at-bats. Have the confidence that every at-bat is a new chance to succeed.
